About Our Evironmental Action
Transitions Thru Life Co-op Inc.'s dedication to protecting the world we live in is based on the belief that a true holistic approach must incorporate our environment. We must be mindful of the effects of toxins that have bled into our diet, air, and bodies. Toxins are shown to cause mental and physical effects on our mental and physical well being. Therefore, we must truly treat the whole system, which means environmental action.
Environment and man have a quantifiable and historic relationship which is both synergistic and symbiotic in nature.
This relationship must be built on:
1) Good STEWARDSHIP, if it is to be a positive forward motion that benefits us and our future generations. Our interactions and actions are the underpinnings that build a solid foundation, for our health now and for future generations. Furthermore, T.T.L
2) Posits that the relationship between man and nature must be mutualistic, ie. based on positive conscientious action. Thirdly, that this relationship of homosapien and nature is SYNERGISTIC ; forward driven in vision, scope, and action.
homosapiens ( Latin: gender neutral human)
T.T.L commits to actions which reflect this attitude and belief. We hope to be wise stewards of our environment here in the Ohio Valley.
We will share our efforts towards reducing waste, providing education on the reduction of waste and it's re-use.

As we know, the careless disposal of plastic bags pose a real risk to our waterways, fish and wildlife, bodies, and its drinking water quality. The Valley's drinking water is pulled from the river, treated at our local water plants, and pumped into our homes for use. Did you know that in our Tri-State areas? 96% of the debris found along our waterways? Plastics. Animals and fish consume plastic. They think it's fish eggs, food, etc. The plastic then becomes tangled up in their limbs, causing them to choke, starve, or lose limbs due to amputation. Plastics are now proven to be 1) cancer causing, 2) damaging to the endocrine system, and 3) cause starvation by creating a false sense of fullness.
The top two items which are in our landfills? Clothes and plastics.
There are currently NO government regulatory bodies monitoring this issue. Thankfully our private institutes, colleges, and agencies have begun to. Microplastic pollution has been detected in human blood for the first time,...
